Child Disability Assistance Payment
This is an annual payment to help with the cost of caring for a child with disability. You might be able to get the payment if you get a Carer Allowance.
Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme
This scheme provides a payment to help with the extra study costs for your children. You might be able to get this payment if your children can’t go to a state or public school because they live in an isolated area, have disability or have special health needs.
Young Carer Bursary Program
This is financial help to reduce your need to have a part-time job if you are studying or training and taking care of someone. You might be able to get this payment if you are aged 12–25 years or under, in high school, or at university or TAFE.

Affordable housing
Affordable rental housing is managed by not-for-profit community housing providers, and/or by private organisations. People on low to moderate incomes can apply, you do not have to be eligible for social housing.

New South Wales has companies and organisations that provide various types of disability housing, including specialist disability accommodation and supported independent living.
Social Housing
The NSW government and not-for-profit agencies provides social housing for people on low incomes or with special needs. Social housing incorporates public housing and community housing. These options offer you secure affordable long-term rental accommodation.

Carer Adjustment Payment
This is a one-off payment to families who can’t get other income support when the family is going through significant adjustment because of the care needs of a child. You might be able to get this payment if you care for a child aged under 7 years who has recently been diagnosed with severe disability or a severe medical condition.
