Association for children with a disability
The Association for children with a disability provides a support line, workshops, information and resources to assist children with a disability and their families with early intervention and access to schools.
NDIS – support to attend school
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can support your child with daily school activities, including transport, eating and moving around. You can access equipment like a wheelchair or assistive technology, such as hearing aids.
NDIS – school leaver employment support
If you are a student with disability in your final year of school you may be able to access the School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
School to post-school options
If you are a student with disability you may be able to access government support to transition to a post-school option. The Department for Education has Transition centres Better Pathways program and a transition program that may assist you.
Support for children with additional needs in early childhood
If your child has a disability or additional needs, they may be able to access extra support from early childhood services, childcare and kindergarten.

Autism CRC
Autism CRC is the independent national source of evidence for best practice in relation to autism across the lifespan and the spectrum. Information and resources include the Autism Knowledge Centre, a portal to autism resources, tools and publications, the National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism, and the National Guideline for supporting the learning, participation and wellbeing of autistic children and their families.
Inclusion Support Program
The program provides support for eligible mainstream ECEC services to build their capacity and capability to include children with additional needs, alongside their typically developing peers. The ISP is part of the Child Care Safety Net and Child Care Package, your local Early Childhood Education Centre can also give you more information about accessing this support.
