Release of the NDIS Review report

The Australian Government has released the final report of the Independent Review into the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

A guide to the NDIS Review report is available, as well as a set of fact sheets and frequently asked questions. Easy Read versions are available.

One of the main goals of the NDIS Review was to put people with disability back at the centre of the NDIS.

Over the past year, the NDIS Review looked at how the NDIS works now, and how it can work better for people with permanent and significant disability who depend on it.

The Independent Review panel worked with people with disability, NDIS participants, their families and carers, as well as the providers and workers who support them.

After receiving almost 4,000 submissions, the NDIS Review makes 26 recommendations that aim to restore trust, confidence and pride in the NDIS.

Governments are considering the recommendations. If you have an NDIS plan, nothing will change straight away due to the recommendations.

Discussions with the disability community and states and territories will continue as we work together to make the positive changes needed for people with disability – both within the NDIS and outside the scheme.

You can find out more about the NDIS Review by registering to attend a public forum.
