中学时代读的一本书改变了Jerusha的人生。
“这本书是Norman Doige医生写的《The Brain That Changes》，”Jerusha说，“我对神经科学的兴趣就源自于此。”

攻读博士学位的过程并非一帆风顺。Jerusha的学习需要她全心投入，奋力拼搏；她为自己取得的成绩深感自豪。
“我希望能为这个研究领域做出贡献，并激发更多有关这方面的对话，”她说。
在神经科学的专业领域之外，Jerusha的兴趣爱好包括音乐、旅行和诗歌。她创造的很多诗灵感来自她的信仰，信仰在她的生活中占据着重要位置。
“我信仰上帝，这对我的日常生活具有很大帮助，”Jerusha说，“信仰让我有了更多力量去做事。”
