Department of Human Services Equipment Program

The South Australian Government provides information about equipment and assistive technology for people with disability. You can find out how to access equipment, home modifications and other supports that help with mobility, communication, safety and everyday living.

Medical aids and equipment

Queensland Health provides information about financial help for medical aids and equipment through the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS). Eligible Queenslanders may be able to get support for equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility aids, communication devices and other aids to help them live safely and independently at home.

Mobility aids and equipment

The Territory Equipment Program helps eligible people in the Northern Territory get equipment to support everyday living. The program may provide mobility aids, communication devices, home modifications and other equipment to help people with long-term disability or functional impairment stay independent and take part in daily activities.

Equipment loan and supply

Canberra Health Services provides equipment loans and supplies for eligible people in the ACT community. The service can provide equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility aids, hospital beds, hoists and oxygen equipment to help people stay safe and independent at home.

Community Care Occupational Therapy

Canberra Health Services provides occupational therapy support to help adults live safely and independently at home in the ACT. The service can assess your needs and recommend equipment, wheelchairs, home modifications and other supports to make daily tasks easier and safer.

BlueCare

BlueCare can take you to the shops and help you buy groceries. BlueCare also offers help at home, including transport, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, personal care, home maintenance, health support, and short-term care so carers can take a break.

Village Creek Centre

The Village Creek Centre runs equipment trials and assessments with occupational therapists that are available by appointment. You can also visit the Village Creek Centre without an appointment for simple advice.

Western Australian Limb Service for Amputees (WALSA)

The Western Australia Limb Service for Amputees (WALSA) provides essential prostheses for eligible amputees through an integrated client-focused service.

Victorian Artificial Limb Program (VALP)

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services administers the Victorian Artificial Limb Program (VALP). There are 11 VALP providers in Victoria, 6 in metropolitan Melbourne and 5 in regional areas.

Queensland Artificial Limb Service

The Artificial Limb Scheme funds a variety of standard definitive prosthetic services for people requiring a definitive prosthesis (artificial limb).
