Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) has easy-to-understand resources to help families and carers spot early signs of autism in children. These tools can help you learn what to look for and where to get support early. Getting help early can make a big difference.
Disability in childhood
If your child has a disability, you can find support for them, and for yourself. You can visit the website or call 1800 882 436 to speak to a maternal health nurse.
AEIOU Foundation
AEIOU provides therapeutic, early intervention services for children with autism aged two to six.
Kites Children’s Therapy
Personalised early intervention and school age support to assist kids living with disability or developmental challenges.
Aussie Deaf Kids
If your child is deaf or hard of hearing you can access a range of resources through the Aussie Deaf Kids website. There are also a range of online support groups that you can join.
Special Education Resource Unit
If your child has a disability or learning difficulty, you can access specialised teaching and learning materials and services to help support their learning.
Disability support at pre-school
You can access support for children with disability at preschools, kindergartens, children’s centres and early learning centres.

NSW Health Hearing services are provided by a range of government and non-government agencies in NSW.
Hearing Services Program, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
If you have hearing loss you may be able to access hearing supports and aids through the Hearing Services Program. There is also a special program called the NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) program for children aged 0–6 years who have just been diagnosed with a hearing problem.
