Cherie: I have peripheral vascular disease and peripheral neuropathy.

[Image changes to show a close side view of Cherie talking to the camera]

I’ve actually got blockages in my legs from the groin down to my knees.

[Image changes to show a close view of Cherie adjusting the mirror on her mobility scooter, and then placing the key in the ignition, and then the camera zooms out on Cherie riding her scooter]

It’s harder for me to walk these days so I use my mobility scooter a lot.

Hi, I’m Cherie. I live out in Kingaroy, Queensland.

[Images move through to show a close view of silos, Cherie talking to the camera, and a close view of Cherie and her support worker smiling and moving towards the camera]

I have a support worker that comes every day.

[Images move through to show Cherie and her support worker moving across a pedestrian crossing, the worker making the bed, Cherie talking, and Cherie and the worker having a coffee]

She helps me go do the shopping, chores around the house, makes my bed, helps me with the washing, helps me with my lines when I’ve got to learn them for theatre.

I travel to Brisbane quite often as I do theatre down there.

I like the theatre group because it’s actually made me come out of my shell.

I was very introverted and wouldn’t talk to people but now, look at me.

[Music plays, and the image changes to show the theatre group throwing up silver snowflakes while they are dressed in red and white type Santa suits]

I like using the Disability Gateway for when I go down to Brisbane for theatre and specialists, it works out easier to click on the website and find the services that I require.
